About

David Robert (Dave) Lambert has 40+ years of experience in the computer industry. He worked for IBM for 22 years in the capacities of programmer, market support representative, and systems engineer. He worked for Integic Corporation (which has since been acquired by Northrop Grumman Information Technology) from 1994 to 2005 where he worked on various projects for the Defense Logistics Agency, General Services Administration, U.S. Army Center for Public Works, U.S. Navy, Defense Automated Printing Service and Defense Contract Management Agency. Over those ten years, he architected and developed complex distributed document management solutions involving both PDF and EDI documents. He is familiar with all phases of the system development life cycle and has a working knowledge of a variety of operating systems, database management systems, programming languages, and development tools.

In addition, he developed websites for the Defense Department and an online training course for the State Department. Over the course of his career, he prepared technical documentation, as well as developed and taught training courses.

After leaving Integic in 2005 and earning a Certificate in Evangelism from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC, he redirected his career toward full-time ministry.  In addition to his studies at the seminary, Mr. Lambert was trained at Holy Trinity Brompton Anglican Church in London and at various Alpha Conferences throughout the United States. He currently serves as an Advisor for Alpha USA.

Beginning in 2002, he was a member of the Executive Committee for the DC Festival with Luis Palau which was held on the National Mall; this event drew 60,000 people in October 2005.  He later worked for Billy Graham as the Database Coordinator for the Billy and Franklin Graham Festival held in Baltimore; this event drew 81,000 people in July 2006.  In October 2006, Mr. Lambert joined the staff of Discover Power to Change in Washington DC and was on the Leadership Council of MultiChurchDC.

In his spare time since leaving IBM in 1993, Mr. Lambert has been deeply involved in the Internet and World Wide Web.  For many years, he was an Internet Service Provider with multiple servers in a climate-controlled commercial-grade data center that has backup generators and redundant fiber-optic connections to the backbone of the Internet.  He designed and developed websites for a variety of small business and non-profit customers.  Many know him simply as “Webmaster Dave.”

He has always had an interest in cooking and has organized and prepared church-related meals for the last 25 years.  Mr. Lambert is known as “Chef Da-Vid” in culinary circles and holds a National Restaurant Association ServSafe® food service manager certificate that is honored in all jurisdictions. For six years, he taught this professional-level food safety course.

For three years, he served as a Nonprofit Advisor and ex-officio member of the Board of Directors of a local nonprofit. Dave is a CNAP (Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional) and is the Treasurer of another nonprofit. Over the course of his life, he served on the board of nine nonprofits.

Dave has retired from both industry and nonprofit work to, on a part-time basis, concentrate on Freelance Writing. David Robert Lambert LLC was established in 1993 and is now doing business as DRL-LLC Freelance Writer.

He helps nonprofits by offering GuideStar profile writing services. Dave is a GuideStar Administrator and has helped other nonprofits go from no profile to platinum. This is very important because grant-makers want to know all they can about a nonprofit before they approve a grant application or contract.

GuideStar maintains a database of more than 1.8 million IRS-recognized tax-exempt organizations. They encourage better giving by providing information transparency in a neutral way.

Mr. Lambert is uniquely qualified to help businesses, as well as nonprofits, thrive by offering Case Study and Blog writing services because he has been a blogger for over 10 years and is a Certified Case Study Specialist trained by AWAI. Founded in 1997, the American Writers and Artists Institute is the world’s leading provider of copywriting training programs.

He is a member of both the Professional Writers Alliance and the International Association of Professional Writers and Editors.

Dave worships at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethesda, Maryland, and lives in Potomac with his wife, Deborah.
